More often than not, if you are using a word processor program that is NOT Microsoft Word, you should have the option under, File-save as to save as a rich-text file. (.rtf) this is the ideal way to print your document in the library using Microsoft Word if you do not have the program.

Saving your files
If you save your files with symbols, it will not open in programs like Blackboard or certain e-mail. EX: world%document
Instead you should save with underscores if you feel the need to separate words EX: word_document
What about Mac Programs?
If you use Mac iWork Programs suchch as Pages and you want to show or print your work from one of our PCs, you can always Export to an Office file.
To do this click on "File" on the menubar on your mac and then click "export" Pages gives you the option of export to a file that can be viewed on Adobe Reader (.pdf) or a Word Document (.doc). Remember that you will still have your regular Mac file as well as the exported file on your computer or flash drive so make sure you have enough room.
To change to the PowerPoint format using Keynote click file and then save as, there is an option to keep as keynote or change to a PowerPoint .ppt file.
What is the password?
If the public computer you want to use is asking for a password just click on the "ok" button. There is no password for the public computers.
In regards to Photoshop
If you want to print out on our color copier, you CANNOT use photoshop. To convert from Photoshop to Jpeg please open your picture on the Mac Computers in the basement. A program called Preview will load the file. Then click on file, then save as. Under the format change photoshop to JPEG.
