Changes to Mobile Services

Support for the library's mobile app has been discontinued. Several library databases are mobile-friendly.  The library is moving to a brand new system in Summer, 2014, that will optimize automatically for the device you are using.

Also, the Ask a Librarian 24/7 service was discontinued due to low usage.  Please text us your questions at (914) 288-6288.

Research Toolkit ePortfolio Template

Nancy Bobrek, Coordinator of Patron Services, proposed to create a form to help librarians and students manage research projects.  The library staff had lots of helpful feedback.  The result is a template within the Digication ePortfolio system that anyone at Manhattanville can use!

You must be logged into Digication to view the template:

We hope this will:

  • Help students understand steps in the research process

  • Avoid duplication of effort by faculty, librarians and writing consultants when assisting students

  • Present a range of sources students should be using for college research

  • Educate students about mobile apps currently available to support the research process

  • Encourage students to evaluate sources before incorporating them into research projects

  • Begin to provide reusable instructional components that faculty can incorporate into their courses

Your suggestions for improvement are welcome!

New Water Bottles

Instead of throwing away hundreds of cups per week, we are now offering shiny red stainless steel water bottles for $5 at the service desk.  The water dispenser on the ground floor has been a bigger success than we ever imagined. Enjoy some cool water or your favorite instant beverage sustainably!

Library Plaza

The Library plaza is ready for spring!  Please make use of the tables as the winter weather finally loosens its grip.
