New Library: Print Center

Print Center

The Library offers three machines for copying, printing, and scanning on the first floor. Copies are $0.05 per page. One of these machines can print in color as well as black and white. (Color copies are $0.20 per page.) Additionally, a fourth machine for copying, printing, and scanning is available on the second floor. There is also a standalone scanner available on the first floor.

The Library endorses two methods for printing from our machines; both are outlined step-by-step below.

Method One

"The Direct Method" (Note: this is the only method that can be used for color printing.)

  1. Print your document from wherever it originates. If you need your document printed in color, you must make that selection from within the print menu of the program you're using.
  2. For destination, select "Papercut".
  3. Right-click on the Papercut icon on the lower right-hand corner of the screen and select "Log in as..." from the menu options.
  4. Enter your ID number into the dialog window.
  5. Once the notification appears in the lower right hand corner of your screen, your job will be ready to print.
  6. Swipe your ID card (or manually type in your ID number) at any of the copy/print/scan machines.
  7. Click the "Print Release" button.
  8. Select your job and click "Print".

This method can be used to print Word Documents, PDFs, or web pages from any windows computer on the first floor in Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader, or Google Chrome.

Method Two

"The Email Method"

  1. Download your document from wherever it originates, or save it to the computer's desktop.
  2. Open your email in Microsoft Office 365. (www.office.com)
  3. Compose a new message.
  4. Attach your document to the message.
  5. In the address line, enter "print@mville.edu".
  6. Hit "Send". (No need to enter any text into the body or subject line of the message.)
  7. Swipe your ID card (or manually type in your ID number) at any of the copy/print/scan machines.
  8. Click the "Print Release" button.
  9. Select your job and click "Print".

This method can be used to print Word Documents and PDFs from any computer, anywhere.

Your ID is pre-loaded with $15 for printing every semester. More can be added at the kiosk by the Writing Center.
