Workshop Description: Are you curious about how ChatGPT and other AI chatbots can help you with your writing assignments? Do you have questions about academic integrity and Generative AI use? In this workshop, you will begin to develop critical AI literacy—an understanding of the ethical concerns and limitations of Generative AI use as well as potential ethical uses of GenAI as a writing tool.
You'll learn that GenAI is not a substitute for your own critical thinking—it is a tool to help you think! We'll show you how to evaluate and cite GenAI, as students are always responsible for checking the accuracy of GenAI outputs and disclosing GenAI use in their assignments. Keep in mind: in some classes, AI use is prohibited, so you should ALWAYS check with your instructor before using GenAI at any stage of the writing process!
