Library Orientation: Being a Successful Valiant-Library Orientation

The purpose of this session is to

• Provide a brief introduction to the Library services and resources both in-person and virtual including: 

  • Library Homepage

  • Library Hours

  • Library Databases

  • Library Guides

  • Citation Assistance

  • Chat Reference

• Describe the Writing Center
•  
• Introduce students to the Academic Resource Center and NetTutor
•  
• Acquaint students with the Academic Integrity policies at Manhattanville University
  • Define academic integrity and the values associated with it
  • Recognize academic misconduct/academic dishonesty and the ways it is sometimes rationalized 
  • Identify common misconduct pitfalls and the larger problem these offences create 
  • Review the risks associated with even minor acts of academic misconduct
