Treat each image used as if it is copyrighted. This means crediting where you found the image and the author of the work.
Creative Commons is a great place to look for images (and all sorts of other digital files that you can use, reuse and edit).

Always check and give credit to the original creator of an image, same as you would do with any item you find online for your research.
