Art History: Museums and Research Libraries

This page serves as a guide to resources in Art History

Visiting Local Museums and Galleries

Manhattanville's proximity to New York City allows researchers to take advantage of the unique resources provided by area museums and research libraries.

The opportunity to see a work of art in person is incomparable to looking at reproductions. Compared to online and printed images, seeing the original work allows the viewer to appreciate details such as brushstrokes, texture, and the true size and dimensions of the object.

Research Libraries

Research libraries provide access to rare and primary sources that are often unavailable elsewhere. The following area libraries and institutions welcome undergraduate researchers. Please make sure to review researcher requirements before your first visit.
