The Manhattanville Bias Education Response Team (BERT) helps in promoting a campus climate in which all members thrive personally, professionally, and academicaaly. Team members serve as supportive resources for community members who have reported incidents of bias not addressed by the Manhattanville Student Handbook of the Faculty/Staff Handbook. For more information on BERT please visit https://www.mville.edu/life-manhattanville/diversity-and-inclusion/responding-bias.
Manhattanville strongly encourages the reporting of all such incidents occurring on campus or at college sponsored events and activities. Reports of bias behavior help identify those community members in need of institutional support, as well as those who could benefit from training and education in empathy and sensitivity.
All reports will be treated with discretion. Information from this form may be shared with appropriate individuals in order to help protect the safety and health of those involved in any incident. If we are provided with contact information for the reporting party or impacted party someone from the appropriate office or resource will reach out to those impacted by the reported behavior. You may remain anonymous when reporting through this form. However, it’s very helpful to have your contact information and name in case there is a need to obtain more information about the situation or clarify information.
Our community is committed to maintaining an inclusive campus climate, yet we recognize that incidents of bias and hate have occurred to and are committed by our community members. When this happens, we want our students, staff, and faculty to fully understand their options for support and to be aware of established procedures for reporting and responding to such behaviors.
The Department of Campus Safety and Security has one overriding goal — to provide a safe and working community for all students, staff, and faculty, so that the community can pursue their goals and objectives.
Students can always contact Campus Safety if they see, hear, or experience any type of Hate Speech:

Students should also report a bias incident if they experience or witness any incidence.
