This Library Guide is for all Manhattanville employees (faculty, staff, and administration).  We encourage you to use on-site Library services and resources during our regularly scheduled hours.  Databases and Library Guides are available 24/7 from anywhere!

This Guide provides information on how to use the Manhattanville Library as well as several other resources.

Just For Staff

Asking for Help When Your are Not in the Library

If you are not in the Library, but you still need help, there are many ways that you can contact us.

  • By email at reference@mville.edu
  • By texting us at (914) 288-6288
  • By submitting a question to our Ask Us service 
  • By scheduling a Research Consultation with a librarian to set up an appointment to work individually on your individual research needs
  • By going to the Library homepage and Chat with Us via text or video in real time with a reference librarian during service hours and use our Chat Bot when librarians are not available.

What You Can Do In the Library

When you are in the Library:

Visit the front desk to "Borrow/Return, Get Quick Help" (Also called Circulation Desk)

Come to the Reference Desk to get to get help  during our regularly scheduled hours.

You can: 

  • Find and check out books and DVDs.
  • Borrow materials from other libraries, called Interlibrary Loan; at Mville, we call it ILLIAD.
  • Access our virtual collection from wherever you are including electronic journals, magazines, newspaper, e-books, and streaming films [You will need to log in with your Mville login information-same as ServiceHub].
  • Don't have a subscription to the New York Times?  Access our virtual subscription.
  • Do you feel like watching a movie that is not part of your subscription? Take a look at our collection of streaming films  [You will need to log in with your Mville login information-same as ServiceHub].
  • Meet with your colleagues and work on projects.
  • Copy and print in black and white or color.
  • Use the scanner. 
  • Visit our Education Resource Center and browse our children's and young adult collection.
  • Check out our resources to help a child that needs to complete an assignment.
  • Remember our virtual resource tools are available 24/7.
    Ask for assistance, and we will be happy to help during regularly scheduled hours.
