Services for Faculty

The Manhattanville College Library supports faculty members in teaching, scholarship, and research.

Academic Program Liaisons

Each Academic Program at Manhattanville has a liaison librarian.  Liaisons develop relationships with faculty to support courses by preparing Library Guides, conducting specialized library instruction for classes, and updating faculty on new library resources.

Research Assistance

The library can help faculty with research needs including:

• Research refreshers on new library databases or search strategies
• Online searching on specific topics
• Locating hard-to-find materials or out-of-print materials for your courses or your research
• Contact your Academic Program Liaison for more information.

Library Instruction Visits

Instructors can request Library Instruction and Research Support for their class, in the library or their classroom by filling out the online Library Instruction Request form. Requests must be made at least a week in advance.

Course Reserves

Linking to Library Resources - Articles, e-books, and videos from the library's subscription databases are excellent resources for curriculum support.  Your library liaison can help you locate materials.

Online Reserves- Digital Innovations students, under the Instructional Technologist, consult with instructors on using course materials in Blackboard, Moodle, and other platforms.  Here is a link for faculty to request help with putting course materials online.

Physical/Hard Copy Reserves- The library helps instructors make physical course readings and videos available when necessary.  The Library does not purchase textbooks for Reserve use.  Instead, we place Professor's Copies or School-purchased copies on Reserve when required.

Please email us to inquire about materials from previous semesters.

Purchase Requests

Request a Book- The library makes every effort to obtain books requested and recommended by faculty.  Request can be made using the Request a Book Purchase form or by contacting your liaison librarian.

Request a Film  This form is used for DVD purchases and licensing access to streaming films.
