Location: The Circulation Services Desk is located at the entrance to the library and is staffed largely by trained student workers, some of whom are Library Circulation Assistant Supervisors. This service point is supervised by a librarian: Albert Neal, the Head of Patron Services.
Description of Services: Our primary goal at this desk is to circulate and renew library materials, both items from our own collections, as well as items borrowed from other libraries through the Library's Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) Service, which is headed by Claire Tomkin. In addition to circulating books and DVDs, we also circulate Course Reserve items, dry-erase kits, and a variety of other materials. ILL items consist principally of hard-copy books and DVDs. These circulation tasks are accomplished through the use of an Integrated Library System, known as WMS. Individuals who work at the Library Circulation Desk also instruct library patrons on how to use the printers and scanners effectively and provide directional assistance.
